Rockstar Games released the second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, posting the two-minute, 47-second clip to its own YouTube channel on May 6, 2025. The trailer confirms the game’s return to a modern Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, and delivers the fullest look yet at returning leads Jason and Lucia.

A bigger look at Leonida

Where the first trailer — published December 4, 2023 — ran a tight 90 seconds and leaned on tone and atmosphere, Trailer 2 is nearly twice as long and far broader in scope. It moves beyond the neon beachfront to show the surrounding state of Leonida: open water, highways, nightlife, and dense urban blocks. Rockstar frames the pair of trailers as complementary, with the second filling in the world that the reveal only hinted at.

The footage spans a crowded Vice City nightclub bathed in purple and pink light, daytime chases on jet skis and yachts, and tense nighttime street scenes — including a sports car loaded onto a flatbed tow truck wearing a Leonida license plate. Together, the shots reinforce that Leonida is a full state to explore rather than a single city.

Why it matters

For a game this anticipated, every official drop sets the public baseline against which leaks and rumors are measured. Trailer 2 locks in three things on the record: the Vice City / Leonida setting, the Jason-and-Lucia dual-protagonist structure, and Rockstar’s continued use of its own channels to control the rollout. Anything beyond what these trailers show — release dates, mechanics, map size — remains unconfirmed until Rockstar says otherwise.

What’s next

With two official trailers now out, the next confirmed milestones to watch are any further Rockstar Newswire posts and a firm release date. We’ll update this article if Rockstar publishes additional trailers or official details. Until then, treat anything outside these two trailers as unverified.
