GTA 6 Release Date: November 19, 2026 (Confirmed)
Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The date was confirmed by Rockstar Games after two delays.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Tuesday street date follows industry-standard practice for major holiday-window releases and lands just over a month before the December retail peak. No PC release has been announced.
The current GTA 6 release date is the third Rockstar Games has communicated publicly. The original target window referenced in Take-Two Interactive investor materials was 2025; that slipped to early 2026, and then to its current November 2026 slot.

History of delays
GTA 6 has shipped twice from its original window. The shifts tracked with Take-Two CFO statements and Rockstar’s public communications:
- 2025 (original target) — referenced in Take-Two FY2024 fiscal-year communications as a “second half of fiscal 2025” window, implying late 2024 through early 2026
- Early 2026 — pushed to “spring 2026” range during the Trailer 2 cycle in May 2025
- November 19, 2026 (current) — confirmed at the most recent Rockstar Newswire update
Two delays is consistent with the pattern of every recent Rockstar Games release: Red Dead Redemption 2 slipped twice from its initial 2017 target before launching in October 2018, and GTA V shifted from spring 2013 to September 2013. Compared to those, GTA 6’s timeline is longer in absolute terms but proportional in iteration count.
Platform availability
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are the confirmed launch platforms. Both are next-generation consoles required for the game’s rendering and streaming workload — the previous generation (PS4, Xbox One) is not supported, breaking the cross-generation pattern that GTA V used during its 2013–2014 launch window.
Day-one features per platform are not yet detailed by Rockstar. Based on industry precedent and Trailer 2 footage, expect:
- 4K resolution at 30 fps in a quality mode on both PS5 and Xbox Series X
- Lower base resolution (1080p–1440p) on Xbox Series S
- Performance mode targeting 60 fps at reduced resolution on Series X and PS5
- DualSense haptics and adaptive trigger support on PS5
The PS5 Pro version, if differentiated, has not been confirmed.
What about PC?
PC has not been announced. Rockstar’s pattern across the last two console-first GTA launches:
- GTA V — console launch September 2013, PC release April 2015 (19 months)
- Red Dead Redemption 2 — console launch October 2018, PC release November 2019 (13 months)
Applied to GTA 6’s November 2026 launch, a PC port would plausibly land between late 2027 and mid-2028. This is speculation based on prior patterns, not a Rockstar commitment.
Pre-orders and editions
Pre-orders have not opened. Rockstar typically announces pre-order windows and edition tiers 8–16 weeks before launch — so the window to watch is mid-August through late September 2026. Historical edition tiers for GTA V suggest:
- Standard Edition ($69.99 expected at next-gen pricing)
- Deluxe Edition with in-game currency, early-access content
- Collector Edition with physical extras and an art book
Retailer affiliate links (Amazon, Best Buy, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store) will activate on this page when Rockstar opens pre-orders.
