Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has once again publicly reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI remains on track for its planned November 2026 release, according to a new report from Video Games Chronicle. The statement, made during Take-Two’s latest earnings cycle commentary, is the publisher’s clearest reiteration of the schedule since the Trailer 2 reveal in May 2025.

What Zelnick said

VGC reports that Zelnick used the company’s most recent investor-facing window to stick to the November 2026 target — the same window first communicated alongside the Trailer 2 launch a year ago. The CEO did not narrow the date further, and no specific day has been attached to the November window in any official Take-Two or Rockstar communication. The reaffirmation matters because it is the third consecutive quarter in which Take-Two’s leadership has held the line on November rather than acknowledging any shift toward early 2027 — a slip that some analysts have repeatedly speculated about.

Context: the schedule so far

Rockstar’s public timeline for GTA VI has been unusually disciplined for a project of this scale. The first trailer landed in December 2023 with a “2025” window, which slipped once — to “Fall 2025,” then to May 26, 2026, and finally to November 19, 2026, following the Trailer 2 release. Since that adjustment, neither Rockstar Newswire nor Take-Two earnings calls have indicated further movement. By comparison, GTA V’s pre-launch year saw two confirmed delays before its eventual September 2013 release, so a single locked window 6 months out is a stronger signal than the franchise’s own history would suggest.

It is also worth noting what Zelnick did not say: he made no comment on PC timing, no comment on a specific launch day, and no comment on pre-order availability. All three remain officially unannounced.

What’s next

The next watchable date is Take-Two’s full-year earnings call, traditionally held in mid-to-late August, where executives typically narrow guidance on flagship titles ahead of holiday-quarter launches. A specific November day — and the long-expected pre-order window — would conventionally be announced via Rockstar Newswire 8 to 12 weeks before launch, which puts a realistic announcement window in late August or September 2026.

Until then, the official position is unchanged: GTA VI launches in November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with PC timing still unconfirmed.
